Now closed to the public, “the Rooms” housed the “Societa dei Risoluti” (the ‘Society of the Resolved’), where the most restless, dissolute and ingenious minds of Manciano would meet and discuss ideas, literature, and public life. During Fascism the rooms were the headquarters for the Fascist Party and the National Recreational Club. Since 1945 the space has housed L’Ente Nazionale di Assistenza ai Lavoratori (Association for Workers Assistance). The rooms became a popular venue overlooking one of the busiest streets of the town and have played a central role in the civic life of Manciano for centuries.
